Questions You May Have:
Who attends a HeartBeat music class?
These classes are for babies, toddlers & preschoolers, as well as their parents or caregivers.
What happens in these classes?
Families attend fun, active, weekly 45-minute classes for six to 10 weeks, where they sing, dance, play instruments and more.
Do parents attend these classes?
Yes, a parent or caregiver must attend, partly for your child’s safety, but also because your participation is so important! You’re the most important role model for your child. You needn’t be a great singer or dancer, but by simply enjoying the class with your children, you’ll be teaching them to enjoy music and movement on their own terms.
Are there classes for each age group?
Research has shown that mixed-age classes allow infants and younger children to model older children, and older children benefit from being role models. An extra benefit is that siblings can attend the same class, which is more fun for the family and more convenient for the parent or caregiver.
Should such young children be under pressure to excel at music?
No! Classes are informal and fun. Children aren’t expected to achieve or perform. Young children learn best through play, and HeartBeat Music’s playful approach helps children achieve basic music competence without even knowing it.
